Pizzarova to open new south Bristol restaurant this week

Pizzarova has announced the opening date for its much anticipated new site in Bristol. Its new site on North Street, Bedminster, will make it the first restaurant south of the river.

The Bristol-based pizza franchise first revealed their plans to expand in the spring. The new restaurant has taken over a former site of computer shop Compuwave at 237 North Street, a couple of doors down from The Lounge, Pimms Pizza and Pizza Workshop.

Pizzarova had initially planned to open the restaurant in June but this was delayed to September. During this time, the restaurant collaborated with local greengrocer Hugo's on North Street to create a special pizza to mark the occasion ahead of opening day.

The fifth addition to its sourdough pizza portfolio will be ready to open on Friday (September 16), it has been confirmed, in an announcement shared on social media. The pizza will also be available for delivery or takeaway.

In a statement released on its Instagram page, the announcement read: "Having gone from fitting a Land Rover in with a pizza oven, to laying down roots for the first time with our Gloucester Road store, we're now opening up our third brick and mortar shop in the heart of BS3."

When the renovation work began, residents were fascinated with the emergence of a 'ghost' sign from a 1950s laundrette called Bollom. Pizzarova has confirmed the sign will remain in place with a neon sign in the window for the restaurant.

The post continued: "For those who were interested in the 1950s launderette sign we discovered on the premise, it will well and truly be on display for you all to see! You'll also be eating at tables made by the offcuts from Valley Marble as we wanted to ensure the building of this site was as sustainable as possible.

"We can't wait to be part of the buzzing community on North Street and welcome you in from 12pm on Friday! We'll also be on Deliveroo for those of you having a night in. See you soon!"

The pizzas have sourdough bases made with a starter that’s been fed for over 70 years, and South West suppliers include Brue Valley Farm in Glastonbury, which produces Somerset-made mozzarella. Popular options on the menu at Pizzarova restaurants include goats’ cheese, caramelised onion and sun-dried tomato, and double chorizo with hot honey - with an ever-changing specials menu.

The North Street restaurant joins the restaurant group's sites on Park Street, Whapping Wharf, Propyard and Gloucester Road, which is temporarily closed.

Pizzarova's new site will open at 12pm on Friday, September 16 located at 237 North Street, Bedminster
