PizzaExpress offering shoppers half price pizzas all month - and free dough balls

Customers can get half price pizzas all month at PizzaExpress, meaning they can save up to £7.70 on their meals. Shoppers can also receive a delicious free side on their first visit, but only if they sign up to the PizzaExpress Club.

The deal sees 50 per cent off when you download the PizzaExpress Club app for free, sign up to be a club member, and dine in at one of their nationwide restaurants.

This offer is redeemable on the Classic, Leggera, Romana pizzas, and includes gluten-free and vegan alternatives, and with the average pizza prices being £13-£16, it’s a saving of around £6.50 to £8 depending on what you order.

Discounts can be applied all day, any day, Monday to Sunday until Sunday, May 29. But to make sure the restaurant knows about the offer you'll need to check-in to the restaurant and enter your table number when you get there.

There will be a 50 per cent discount offer within the app that you can apply before paying your bill. And while there’s no minimum spend, the deal is limited to one per Club member, per day. Multiple people dining together can redeem the offer so long as all diners are a member of the club.

And what’s more is that you can get a free portion of dough balls on your first visit as a PizzaExpress Club member.

PizzaExpress said: “By becoming a member you get free rewards and collect Pizza Stamps every time you dine-in at one of our pizzerias. You can also collect Pizza Stamps via delivery and collection or by scanning your supermarket pizzas.”

The brand has caused some controversy with their latest supermarket pizza, though, which has been rolled out at Waitrose and Tesco this week. Their new Hawaiian pizza features prosciutto, mozzarella and tangy pineapple chunks on a classic base.

Pineapple on pizza is a widely divisive conversation, with only 53 per cent of pizza lovers enjoy the fruit on a pizza.

Jane Treasure, from PizzaExpress, said: “After a heated discussion in the kitchen, we are excited to be launching our delicious new Hawaiian pizza to supermarket shelves. We’ve worked hard with our Pizzaiolos to develop a pizza which we know the nation is going to love. The Hawaiian complements our extensive range of pizzas, pastas, sides, desserts and dressings... let’s see what we come up with next."
