Pizza truck window smashed as thieves steal staff tip jar

A Phibsborough pizza truck was forced to close on Thursday after a late night break-in.

Village Pizza Dublin, located at at The Bernard Shaw, took to Instagram to share the news with their customers.

Owner Neil Daly says the break-in was then discovered by a coffee shop also located at The Bernard Shaw on Thursday morning.

He told Dublin Live: "I got a text from the coffee shop on Thursday morning to tell me the truck's window had been smashed in.

"There was a staff tip jar with a tenner in it that was taken."

Writing on their Instagram page, the business said: "To add to the string of antisocial behaviour incidents and break-ins in the Phibsborough area we have also fallen victim and unfortunately won't be able to open today til (sic) we can repair the damage."

Neil revealed that the support from the local community has been "amazing" since they shared news of the incident.

Fans of the popular pizza spot were quick to share messages of support online.

One person wrote: "All the best getting back on your feet."

Another said: "So sorry to hear this. Hope you are back up and running ASAP."
