Pizza made with Buckfast and Irn Bru - and they're not the weirdest ingredients

A restaurant is launching a pizza made with Buckfast Tonic Wine and Irn Bru - and those aren't even the weirdest ingredients.

The pizza, created to celebrate World Buckfast Day on May 11, starts straightforward enough with a sourdough base, San Marzano tomato sauce and basil.

The 12 inch beast then takes on haggis and tender stem broccoli, followed by a large helping of beef brisket infused with Bucky to give it a rich and sweet flavour and pulled pork infused with Irn Bru, reports GlasgowLive .

Pizza Punk in Glasgow will top it all off with a potato scone - and you could wash it down with a By Monks for Punks cocktail. The rum based drink blends pineapple, lime and Buckfast.

Buckfast Tonic Wine, renowned for its sweet, unique flavour and high alcohol content, is made by monks at Buckfast Abbey in Devon and is widely drunk in Scotland - especially Glasgow.

The pizza will be available from Pizza Punks on St Vincent Street, Glasgow for in-store, delivery or collection at the price of £10.
