If one of the things stopping you from turning vegan is not being able to enjoy pizza, then fear not because Pizza Hut has some exciting news.
The fast food chain has announced that it will be launching a new vegan stuffed crust pizza in restaurants across the UK tomorrow (February 26th).
The Vegan Stuffed Crust Pizza is made using Violife’s dairy-free alternative to cheese, and is available as an Individual Pizza for a £2.50 add on cost.
It comes after the success of Pizza Hut's plant-based Pepperphoni pizza, which launched in January and resulted in nearly 40,000 vegan pizzas sold within the month alone.
Pizza Hut reportedly sells an average of 1.6 million stuffed crust pizzas a year since inventing the concept 25 years ago, but this is the first time the pizza giant has launched a vegan version.
Simon Orchard, Pizza Hut's UK & Ireland Country Manager, added: “The stuffed crust pizza has been a firm favourite for 25 years, and Violife are excited to be partnering with Pizza Hut to make a vegan version a reality.
“We can’t wait for customers to try the deliciously melty new stuffed crust, and help continue to show people that’s it’s never been easier to go dairy-free.”
But Pizza Hut isn't the first fast food restaurant to offer a vegan pizza.
Papa John's started selling four new vegan pizzas at the start of January, including Jackfruit Pepperoni, American Hot Jackfruit, Vegan Sausage and Pepperoni and the Vegan Works.
