One of Ayr's longest-standing restaurants has closed its doors after more than two decades in the town.
Pizza Hut has shut up shop – with bosses pointing to the impact of the Covid pandemic on business.
The chain, which had its branch on the edge of the Heathfield retail park, has been a staple of the town's dining scene and popular among families.
However, a bleak last two years of trading has forced the hand of stuffed crust chiefs, who insisted they had no option but to call time.
A spokesperson for Pizza Hut Restaurants told Ayrshire Live: “Like many hospitality businesses, Pizza Hut Restaurants has faced disruption due to the pandemic.
"We are saddened by the closure of our Ayr restaurant, however, this was beyond our control.
"Wherever possible we always try to redeploy our team members to other Pizza Hut Restaurants in order to minimise the impact to our workforce.
"You can continue to enjoy Pizza Hut at our Silverburn Shopping Centre restaurant in Glasgow."
The latest follows the closure of the Pizza Hut in Kilmarnock last year at Glencairn Retail Park.
