Pizza Express fans can come and collect food in person from one of its reopened restaurants from today after the chain launched a click + collect service.
Late last month 13 Pizza Express restaurants reopened on a delivery-only basis to try out new, safer working practices.
The trial was ruled a success, and now it's expanding to offer customers the chance to pick up their pizza in person too.
Pizza Express managing director Zoe Bowley said: "We know that people have missed the taste of our freshly handmade pizzas and by launching the next stage of our trial, we hope to gradually and safely begin to bring the PizzaExpress experience back to the UK.”
The click-and-collect service will be operating from Tuesday 9 June at the same 13 pizzerias already open for delivery.
Orders can only be made using the PizzaExpress website at the moment.
There's a limited menu in place to help with social distancing among staff, while protective screens have been put up in store too.
There are 10 pizzas on the limited menu we checked, along with one pasta dish.
There are also six sides - including dough balls, garlic bread and calamari - as well as two deserts to pick from.
Bowley said: “Our number one priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our teams and customers.
"Having undertaken a successful delivery-only trial in 13 of our restaurants, we’re pleased to be rolling this out further to click-and-collect customers in the same 13 restaurants only for the time being."
