Pizza delivery driver carjacked in Evanston: police

A pizza delivery driver was robbed July 7, 2019 in Evanston.

A pizza delivery driver was carjacked Sunday in north suburban Evanston.

The man, 46, was delivering a pizza about 11:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Main Street when he was approached by five people between 20 and 25 years old, Evanston police said.

The group told the man they had ordered the pizza, then demanded his car keys, police said. One of the men in the group hit the man in the head, then took his keys and drove off in his black Subaru Impreza with the rest of his group.

Officers spotted the vehicle shortly after but failed to stop it, police said. The vehicle has since been recovered but no one has been arrested in connection to the robbery.

The suspects in the carjacking were described as two men and three women.

Anyone with information about this incident are asked to call Evanston police at 847-866-5040.
