Piyush Mishra opens up about the debacle of Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Shamshera'; says he doesn't know what went wrong

Piyush Mishra, who was the dialogue writer of the Ranbir Kapoor-Vaani Kapoor starrer 'Shamshera', opened up about the failure of the movie at the box office.

In an interview with a news portal, Piyush said that he also doesn't understand why it didn’t work. People told him that the film didn’t work due to the script. However, the composer-screenwriter added that people have already seen fantastic stunts so many times and that now you will have to compete with them, the revolution in the South. Baahubali was not merely CGI, it also had a very solid script. According to him, to compete with a 'Baahubali', you will have to write an equally brilliant script. 'Pushpa' also had a very good script, it wasn’t made just like that. Adding CGI is only beneficial when you have a solid script, CGI without script is of no use, Piyush told Hindustan Times.

Elaborating further, he added that although he doesn't know what went wrong with 'Shamshera', Piyush assured that he will be more careful in the future.

Piyush also makes it clear that it’s the screenplay that decides the quality of dialogues in a film. He revealed that he derived his inspiration only from the screenplay. Dialogues depend on the screenplay. According to him, it is not possible to write dialogues for a bad screenplay, at least for him.

Along with Ranbir and Vaani, 'Shamshera' also starred Sanjay Dutt in the lead role.
