Pixie Lott has admitted severe sickness during the first trimester of her second pregnancy left her struggling to balance work and family life.

The singer, 34, and her husband Oliver Cheshire, 37, are expecting their second child in the coming weeks, after the couple, who married in 2022, had son Albert, two, and recently moved out of London into what Pixie described as their “forever home”.

Pixie told the Daily Mail: “I felt very sick during my first trimester, and I didn’t have that during my first at all, which was a lot because I was working as well.

“I was juggling a lot. The second trimester I had a lot of energy, and I was playing festivals, so it went by really quickly.”

She added: “Obviously, your body changes so much so it’s been fun dressing my bump. It’s amazing what the human body does to prepare for a life.

“I feel really lucky because I have been able to perform at the same time. It’s helped me along the way. I don’t go to the gym or workout but dancing around on stage has been a really good thing.”

Pixie confirmed she and Oliver know the baby’s sex but have not shared it beyond themselves.

She added: “We do know what we’re having, me and Ollie know, but nobody else does. It’s fun to keep a surprise but we don’t actually have a name in mind yet.”

Pixie and Oliver first met at a Vivienne Westwood event in 2010 and have been together for 15 years. Reflecting on their relationship, Pixie said: “We got married in 2022, which was three years ago. It’s true what they say, getting married is one of the best days of your life and we were on a high for ages.

“At first, it was with Blackberry messenger, and then FaceTime, we respect each other’s jobs, and we make time.”

Pixie also spoke about the pressures of motherhood alongside her career.

She said: “I try and bring Albert to everything but the juggle of everything is definitely a lot, sometimes I feel like I am splitting myself into five different people. I get baby brain, but I am so lucky because my mum and dad live close by.”

The singer is preparing to return to the stage after her baby’s arrival.

She will release a Christmas single later this year and headline Union Chapel on 17 December.
