There has been no shortage of impressive performers for Nottingham Forest in the opening months of the Championship season.
As well as working incredibly well together as a team, individual displays have also helped propel the Reds towards the top end of the league table.
The club’s summer transfer business has started to pay dividends, with a number of the new recruits quickly making an impression - not least goalkeeper Brice Samba and midfielder Samba Sow.
But some players who were already at the club have also found a new lease of life under Sabri Lamouchi.
Ben Watson chief among them.
The 34-year-old has been a key figure for Forest in the centre of the pitch this term, starting every single one of their Championship games.
The head coach refers to Watson as the “brains” of the team, but he has also shown a deft touch in front of goal, finding the back of the net in successive home games.
Asked who has stood out in the Garibaldi, Reds reporter Sarah Clapson said in our latest Forest video: “You’ve got to look at Joe Worrall and Michael Dawson defensively. They’ve been a fantastic partnership - they’ve been really solid and work really well together.
“Brice Samba has come in and made a difference in goal. He’s been superb.
“But you’ve got to give Ben Watson a lot of credit.
“Last year he was in and out of the team, got a bit of stick from fans and didn’t really show what he’s about.
“But this year has almost been a complete turnaround. He’s been absolutely brilliant and a pivotal part of the team.”
