Pittsburgh Steelers sign former Ohio State long snapper Liam McCullough

Another former Ohio State player has signed a deal with an NFL club. Former Longsnapper Liam McCullough inked a deal on Thursday with the Steelers, just a month after he was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders on August 3.

After starting for four-years at Ohio State, this is the first year McCullough has tried to get his career going in the NFL as a rookie. It looks like he will now get a chance after Pittsburgh’s starting long-snapper was lost to injury just recently.

The Steelers have just one other Buckeye on the active roster, but it’s an All-Pro in the person of Cameron Heyward.

In order to make room for McCullough and linebacker Jayrone Elliott, Pittsburgh released linebacker Leo Lewis and waived wide receiver Anthony Johnson.

It’s now up to McCullough to impress enough to find a permanent home on the Steelers’ active roster.
