The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to a flawless start after seven games. Some players on the team came up with the perfect gesture for a group that has been working tirelessly in the past couple of days.
Workers in Allegheny County have been diligently counting ballots from Tuesday’s election. They stopped around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after working for 22 hours straight. They started back up again just after 10 a.m.
Multiple players purchased dinner for the workers at the site Wednesday night from The Goose Express — chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies, and more.
As of 6 p.m., a county spokesperson said 93,699 ballots have been scanned on Wednesday, bringing the number of ballots cast in the county to 633,468. The presidential race in Pennsylvania is still too close to call.
