Pittöberfest beer festival to go ahead at Leith's Pitt Street Market

The organisers of the Pittöberfest festival have confirmed that the celebration of beer will return at the end of this month.

The Pitt Street Market which mirrors the famous Munich event in Germany will take place over three consecutive weekends starting from the 18 to 20 September.

This year the scaled-back version of the festival will feature six breweries which include new beers from Barney’s Beer and Campervan made especially for the event reports BeerToday.

Scotland's newest brewery New Barns will also be making its debut alongside Bellfield, Edinburgh Beer Factory and Pilot.

Barney, of Barney’s Beer, said: “While the cancellation of beer festivals has been a relatively minor inconvenience in comparison to the difficult times experienced by so many, it is a great feeling to be able to have this event at The Pitt.

“This year, it’s going to be particularly special to celebrate and showcase beer from our fellow city brewers and ourselves with the people who enjoy and support what we do.”
