Pitchside footage shows what Jordan Henderson shouted at Mohamed Salah after goal vs West Ham

Mohamed Salah’s second goal in Liverpool’s win over West Ham United on Sunday was enjoyed by all Reds fans.

With Liverpool 1-0 up and the game still in the balance at the London Stadium, Salah’s silky first touch and calm finish on the break was a thing of beauty which effectively settled the match in the away side’s favour.

Liverpool went on to win the game 3-1 in a statement performance which backed up their victory over Tottenham earlier in the week.

Salah looked to be back to his best against West Ham, netting two high-quality goals to bring his six-game goalless streak in the Premier League to an end in style.

His first was a classic from the Salah playbook, as he cut inside from the right-hand side and bent a curling finish with his left foot into the top corner.

But it is his second which will stick in the memory the longest for most Liverpool fans, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri teeing up a minimalist masterpiece.

Fans watching at home on Sunday evening weren’t the only ones taking in Salah’s technique - his captain was doing the same thing after sprinting up the pitch to celebrate with the Egyptian.

Liverpool’s behind-the-scenes cameras caught Henderson ’s words to Salah straight after the ball hit the back of West Ham’s net.

“Hey, what a finish!” he shouted to his teammate. “Brilliant son. You’re f****** brilliant.”

Henderson then handed out praise to Andy Robertson and Shaqiri, who played their parts in the crucial goal.

“What a header,” he said to Robertson” before adding, “what a pass” to Shaqiri.

Georginio Wijnaldum added gloss to the scoreline with a smart finish following slick build-up by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino before Craig Dawson grabbed a late consolation from a corner.

The win moved Liverpool past Leicester City into third place following the Foxes’ 3-1 home defeat by Leeds United and set up tonight’s clash with Brighton nicely.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are four points adrift of Manchester United and Manchester City following United’s 9-0 thrashing of Southampton on Tuesday, but City can re-establish a three-point lead with victory over Burnley at Turf Moor this evening.

New signing Ben Davies could make his debut in central defence for the Reds at Anfield following his deadline day move from Preston, allowing Henderson to move back into midfield against Brighton.

However, Ozan Kabak, who has joined on loan from Schalke, is expected to be made to wait for his Liverpool debut.
