Pitchfork Music Festival got under way Friday amid a scorching heat wave in Chicago.

Diehard fan filled Union Park to catch their favorite bands while trying to stay cool and hydrated. Misting stations, free water bottle refills and handheld fans were popular ways to beat the heat.
