
ATLANTA — The White Sox returned left-hander Manny Bañuelos from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list Sunday, and returned right-hander Carson Fulmer from his injury rehab assignment at Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.
Fulmer, the Sox’ 2015 first-round draft choice, owns a career 6.38 ERA covering 86 innings in parts of four seasons. In 14 appearances this season, he owns a 5.30 ERA with 20 strikeouts and 15 walks covering 18 2⁄3 innings.
Fulmer was hurt running out a ground ball against the Phillies Aug. 2, after he had pitched two scoreless relief innings in the Sox’ 4-3 win in 15 innings.
Banuelos, who made the Opening Day roster and made eight starts this season, is 3-4 with a 6.90 ERA. He has been on the injured list since June 16 with left shoulder inflammation. His addition puts the 40-man roster at 40.
Fulmer and Banuelos bring the active roster to 27.
The Sox will try to avoid a series sweep when they face the Braves at SunTrust Park at 4:10 p.m. CT today. Lucas Giolito (14-7, 3.20 ERA) will oppose the Braves’ Julio Teheran (8-8, 3.39).
