Pitch inspection "likely" ahead of Albion Rovers Scottish Cup Fort William clash

Fort William have warned that there could be a pitch inspection before tomorrows Scottish Cup tie against Albion Rovers.

Rain is expected in the highlands from around 2am on Saturday morning and throughout the night according to the Met Office.

However, ahead of the 3pm kick-off it is expected to be overcast with a mixed period of sunshine and rain.

Following several games being postponed last season, the was told that there will "likely" to be a pitch inspection ahead of the replay at Claggan Park but the game is expected to be given the green light.

Fort William also noted that they would announce if the game was postponed before 7am tomorrow morning, or even tonight.

The replay comes after the 1-1 draw at Cliftonhill last weekend.

The home side had taken the lead as Hamilton Accies loanee Jack Breen’s right-footed shot found the corner. However, Rovers failed to build on the strike and Ross Gunn’s free-kick found Gabriel Hastings to head in from close range.

The winner of the tie will host Airdrieonians at home in the next round.
