A trio of pit bulls attacked two women in Houston, killing one and injuring the other, police said Saturday.
Cops said the injured woman suffered multiple bites, but she was expected to survive after being taken to a nearby hospital, according to KHOU.
Authorities responded early Saturday to a call from the woman's husband after the attack, and minutes after the cops arrived, the owner of the dogs called police and told them a second woman had been attacked and was lying in a ditch outside his home, according to the CBS affiliate.
Police headed to the home and found her dead, KHOU reported.
The attacks happened in the Independence Heights neighborhood on the north side of the city, authorities said.
The dogs were contained, and their owner is cooperating with an investigation, according to KHOU.
