DETROIT _ The Detroit Pistons' shooting forms didn't return from the NBA All-Star break.
And the Boston Celtics took advantage Friday night at Little Caesars Arena.
Several 3-pointers during garbage time allowed the Pistons to finish 10 for 33 from behind the arc in a 110-98 loss.
It was both teams' first game out of the break and the Pistons (28-30) have lost four of five games.
The Pistons got off to a decent start from behind the arc, making four of their first six attempts. But then the bricks started.
Stanley Johnson's 1-for-6 night was the worst for the Pistons.
Kyrie Irving scored 18 points and added six assists for the Celtics (41-19). Daniel Theis scored 19 points off the bench.
The Celtics were 17 for 39 from 3-point range.
All five Pistons starters scored in double figures, led by Ish Smith's 20 points. Andre Drummond finished with 15 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Blake Griffin had another rough shooting night, scoring 17 points on 5-for-19 shooting. He also had five turnovers.
But the starters held their own against the Celtics with the Pistons bench struggling again.
The trade that landed Griffin, cost the Pistons top defender Avery Bradley.
Irving responded with a 7-for-14 night after shooting 35.7 percent in the first two games against the Pistons this season.
Irving is the first of three All-Star point guards greeting the Pistons out of the break. They get Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday; Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors are Monday.
"You try to get as much help as you can, but those guys are going to have to guard their position and guard it well," Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said. "It's not easy tonight, it's not easy Sunday and it's not easy on Monday. You're talking about three All-Stars so it's not going to be easy."
