DETROIT _ Fred Van Vleet's corner jumper with 1.1 seconds remaining gave the Toronto Raptors a 121-119 overtime victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
The winning sequence was set up when Reggie Bullock missed a wide-open 3-pointer that would have given the Pistons a three-point lead.
The Raptors (47-17) grabbed the rebound and raced it into the forecourt, and DeMar DeRozan found VanVleet for the winner.
With a pro-Raptors crowd at Little Caesars Arena, DeRozan scored 42 points and added six assists. Toronto became the first team to clinch a playoff spot.
Blake Griffin scored 31 points and his off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer missed, sending the Pistons to their 10th loss in 12 games.
The Pistons (29-36) are five games behind both Milwaukee and Miami for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot.
The last 40.2 seconds of regulation featured three ties, the last coming when Griffin's layup forced overtime at 114-114 with 4.6 seconds left.
The Raptors roared back in the game with a 40-point second quarter.
