SAN ANTONIO _ Tobias Harris' hurried 3-pointer at the final buzzer wasn't close and the San Antonio Spurs outlasted the Detroit Pistons, 96-93, on Monday night at the AT&T Center.
It's the Pistons' third straight loss on the three-game trip with one game remaining _ Wednesday night at Milwaukee.
The Pistons' attempt to win the game was after Spurs star LaMarcus Aldridge made two free throws with 4.8 seconds left to account for the final score.
Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy called timeout and the Pistons took the ball out at halfcourt.
But the play was a mess from the start and Harris was forced to try to tie the game with a couple of Spurs (16-8) defenders around him.
A barrage of Spurs 3-pointers was the deciding factor.
The Spurs nailed 14-for-31 3-pointers (45.2 percent) and seemed to make a key triple just whenever the Pistons would threaten to pull away.
And the Pistons (14-9) struggled from 3-point line, going 8-for-27 (29.6 percent).
Reggie Jackson scored 27 points, but was held to seven points in the second half. He was 3-for-10 from the field in the second half.
Harris added 15 points and Andre Drummond had 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Stanley Johnson, who was replaced in the starting lineup, collected 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
Anthony Tolliver received the start and was the primary defender against Aldridge, who scored 17 points on 5-for-17 shooting from the field.
