INDIANAPOLIS _ There is a long way to go before we know if the Detroit Pistons are a good team this season.
The Pistons (10-5) coughed up a 22-point second half lead to drop their second straight game on this three-game trip, 107-100, to the Pacers.
The Pistons' bench allowed the Pacers to get back in the game.
The Pistons were able to take a two-point lead at 97-95 with 3:45 remaining after five consecutive points from Tobias Harris. But the Pacers closed on a 12-3 run, which was helped by three turnovers from Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson.
Road games are tough in the NBA and there are no must-win games this early in the season. But when you consider the Pistons are in the midst of arguably their toughest stretch of the season, a victory was ideal against the rebuilding Pacers (8-8).
Andre Drummond scored 11 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out five assists for the Pistons. Jackson and Avery Bradley led the Pistons in scoring with 16 points each.
Victor Oladipo led the Pacers with 21 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.
Pacers second-year forward Domantas Sabonis missed the Pistons' victory over Indiana earlier this month, but he had an impact against the Pistons.
He scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and finished a game high plus-17.
He finished the game in place of Pacers center Myles Turner
It was Franklin (Ohio) City Schools Night at the Pacers' home arena, an effort to attract fans of Pistons rookie Luke Kennard, who was a two-sport star at Franklin, which is a short distance away from Indianapolis.
The crowd greeted Kennard with a nice ovation when he checked in. The faction cheered loudly whenever he scored and he finished with 13 points in 25 minutes.
