Pirniehall Primary fire: Edinburgh emergency services race to fire at Pilton school

Emergency services have raced to a fire on the grounds of an Edinburgh primary school.

It is currently believed that a wooden hut used for nursery children has been set alight.

Pictures snapped by local Facebook community group Trim and Friends of West Pilton show flames and smoke ravaging the building.

According to locals this is the 'second fire within the school grounds in recent months.'

One concerned local said: " Thats shocking! Especially when kids are about to go back especially as it looks like the nursery area."

Another added: "Disgusting, the nursery literally just bought that little playhouse for the kids."

Edinburgh Live has contacted Scottish Fire and Rescue for comment.
