Pippa Middleton reveals she takes son Arthur to a baby gym

Pippa Middleton and James Matthews’ son Arthur is shaping up to be a gym bunny, according to his mother. In her latest column for Waitrose Weekend, Kate Middleton's sister revealed she had been “trying to come up with different activities” to do with her 11 month old - and she hailed baby gyms “a saving grace”.

She said, “I needed to find something more than just park walks in the pram. Our local baby gym has been a saving grace. It’s a big space full of fun, soft objects, play mats, stairs, balls, swings, mini trampolines and more to stimulate and physically engage babies and toddlers.”

Calling it a “safe environment”, Pippa said that at the gym there are “structured activities that help promote movement, balance and strength.”

She added, “Arthur burns lots of energy in this safe environment and learns many physical skills. I have also noticed him building his confidence with each visit.”

Pippa and her husband James Matthews welcomed Arthur into the world last October. Besides hitting the baby gym, she also revealed previously that she and Arthur are also big fans of another fitness activity: swimming.

Speaking to Waitrose a few months ago, she said, “Starting my son Arthur swimming at four months old has given him confidence and enjoyment in water. He’s now six months old, and swimming is one of our favorite activities. The exercise helps guarantee sound daytime sleeps, and the movement has improved his digestion.”

Since giving birth to Arthur, Pippa and her husband have been spotted attending the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor alongside the rest of the Middleton clan. Pippa, an avid tennis fan, also sat in the VIP box at Wimbledon earlier this year with Meghan Markle and her sister Kate.
