Pinter's Betrayal starring Tom Hiddleston extends West End run due to high demand for tickets

Betrayal will extend its run in the West End due to high demand for tickets.

Jamie Lloyd’s production, which stars Tom Hiddleston, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox, will now run for an extra week of performances until June 8.

It opened to acclaim last week, with Standard critic Henry Hitchings describing it as “a surprising and unsparing interpretation, in which every detail counts”. In his four-star review he wrote that “it’s Hiddleston’s poise and sensitivity that impress the most.”

The revival marks the end of the Pinter at the Pinter season, which has seen a star-studded cast including Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, Russell Tovey, Tamsin Greig and Paapa Essiedu appear in a number of his short plays.

Betrayal was first staged in 1978 and charts the impact of an extra-marital affair, told in backwards chronological order. Hiddleston plays Robert, who is married to Emma (Ashton) - who has been having an affair with Jerry (Cox).

Tickets for the extra performances will go on sale today (March 22) at 10am.
