Pop star Pink has been open about her and her son's battle with coronavirus and, now her husband, Carey Hart, has come out about what it was like to witness their suffering.
"My wife and my son definitely had it," Hart told Sirius FM radio's Faction Talk on Monday.
"It was intense," he said. "They both got extremely sick. My son probably got the worst of the two of them. Which kind of debunks the whole theory that this only hits old people."
Indeed, it has been apparent for weeks that, while older people and those with underlying conditions seem to be more susceptible to dying from the disease, a good portion of those hospitalized are under age 50, as The Washington Post reported last month.
Unfortunately, Pink, 40, whose given name is Alecia Moore, has asthma, which socked her with a severe case.
But her son, Jameson, age 3 and with no underlying conditions, also got hit hard _ a rarity.
"It totally attacked her lungs and her chest, and she was having a hard time breathing," Hart said of Pink. Their son, he said, had a 102-103-degree fever "for a solid 2-3 weeks straight."
Pink detailed her battle last week.
"There were many nights when I've cried, and I've never prayed more in my life," she said in a live-stream broadcast on social media.
The most shocking thing for them was that they had all been on lockdown, thought they were doing all the right things, and never saw it coming, Hart told Sirius FM.
"We've been on full quarantine since I got back from Daytona Bike Week which was on the 11th of March," he said. "And leading up to that my wife _ our family _ they hadn't even left our house. They've been pretty locked down since probably about the third or fourth of last month."
