Pink makes Sunderland history for second time with Stadium of Light gigs

Pink has posted on Instagram, to mark making history in Sunderland for a second time in 13 years, as she returned to the Stadium of Light on her Summer Carnival tour to become the first female act to play two consecutive nights there.

It was back in 2010 that the So What singer first visited Wearside, delighting a full house at Sunderland's ground with her Fun House show. Pink is known for being a phenomenal live performer, so, when it was announced that she'd be back on Wearside with Summer Carnival, excitement levels were just as high as the demand for tickets.

Pink's Summer Carnival tour setlist was revealed, as the American star kicked off her UK dates in Bolton on Wednesday and, on Saturday night, it was the turn of fans in Sunderland to see her belt out modern classics like Get The Party Started, Just Like A Pill and What About Us during her first Stadium of Light show.

On Sunday, fans who'd been at Saturday night's opener replied to the post, with one commenting: "Pink you were out of this world at SOL" and a second reacting: "I have literally never seen talent like it, you are by far the worlds best entertainer , that that is how you put on how, epic!!!
