Pink has responded to social media trolls who posted lewd comments beneath a photograph of her two-year-old son she had posted on Instagram.
The snap, taken on holiday, showed Pink with her two children who were both partially naked standing by a swimming pool feeding a pelican.
A few hours later, Pink deleted the image, replacing it with another in which her son’s genitals had been concealed with a scribble.
The 39-year-old singer claimed she’d seen “disgusting” comments about *her son's body, with some speculating whether or not he had been circumcised.
“There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there,” the singer wrote under the replacement image. “Going off about my baby’s penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real?”
Pink added that she hadn't realised her son hadn’t been wearing a nappy when she posted the photo, saying: "As any normal mother at the beach, I didn’t even notice he took off his swim diaper.".
The singer continued: “I deleted it because you’re all f—ing disgusting. And now I’m turning off my comments and shaking my head at the state of social media and keyboard warriors, And the negativity that you bring to other people’s lives.”
While comments on her Instagram account have indeed been turned off, Pink’s new image has been liked more than 501,000 times.
Though Pink removed the first post herself, according to Instagram's community guidelines, the platform may remove images that show nude of partially-nude children "even when this content is shared with good intentions".
It adds in a separate "parent's guide to Instagram" that these guidelines aim to foster a "positive, diverse community" and not following them could result in deleted content or other restrictions.
