Pimp up your Prada

Want to personalise your Prada but don't want to wait three months for them to stitch your name onto it? Never fear, "My Character" is here and you don't even have to fly to Tokyo for it. A pop-up store has just opened at Emporium and will be around until Sept 24 to sell rainbow-hued ready-to-buy items where you can flaunt your initials.

It's the first in Asia to bring this concept around, so expect to be able to fashion your nylon bag in whichever way you like. Twenty-six letters of the alphabet, each with their own distinct colour and detail, are attached to key rings and can instantly mark any bag as yours. Prices are not too eye-popping and start at 3,500 baht.

Then there are the men's shoulder straps which can be purchased separately to add some pizzazz to your look, thanks to its zigzag patterns. What's more fun though are the Velcro patches which can be easily attached to their Velcro bags. There's no fuss to it at all, you can pull them on and off whenever you want. Coming in cheeky motifs such as robots, luggage tags and rainbows, they add an amusing detail to the perennially simple icon that could use a bit of colour.
