Pilot's grim plane secret about hot drinks has people vowing to 'never drink them again'

A pilot has left people gagging after he shared a disgusting on-flight confession that may make you think twice about what drinks you order on a plane.

The unnamed man opened up about what he calls the "most unhygienic places on Earth" in an open thread on Reddit.

Posting on Reddit under the username moaningpilot, he wrote: "Galleys are probably the most unhygienic places on earth."

He continued: "There aren't many places where I'd be wiping down a toilet seat and then immediately go and plate some food up."

And he had a particularly disgusting confession to make about plane coffee which put a number of people off the onboard drink for good, reports the Daily Star.

He urged people not to order the hot beverage during a flight after he claimed he spotted a fellow crew member doing something pretty gross.

"I once caught a fellow crew member pouring old coffee down the toilet," he admitted.

"(We can't pour it down the sink as coffee often blocks them) and then push the flush button with the spout of the coffee pot.

"She then immediately brewed a fresh coffee and poured drinks for customers."

Since being posted, Reddit users were unsurprisingly left feeling disgusted as one person commented: "Yup never drinking aeroplane coffee ever again."

This comes after flight attendant Kat Kamalani revealed places on a plane you might not have known existed.

However, she did warn travellers not to attempt to get into these spots because only flight attendants who have special keys will be able to access them.

She said: "There could be flight attendants sleeping below your feet or above your head.

"Depending on how long the flight is on miles we get a 'rest'. So half the crew will climb down these little steps or go up the steps and they'll be able to sleep in these bunk beds."
