A disused paintball centre was left a smouldering ruin today after a fierce fire tore through the building.
The former Paintball and Airsoft business is only accessible down a dirt track called New Cut Lane, in open fields between Kirkby and Rainford.
Fire crews were called to the isolated site at 11.24pm yesterday (Thursday), where they found the building "well alight."
Four fire engines were needed at the scene, with crews fighting the blaze from the outside.

By 12.30am today, the main body of the fire had been put out, and crews were damping down with high pressure hose reel jets.
Crews eventually left the site at 1.44am.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "This was a well-developed fire that crews worked hard to bring under control and extinguish.
"We are unable to carry out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire due to the structural integrity of the building."
