Pigs appear in garden on Crumlin Road as appeal launched to find owners

A Co Antrim animal sanctuary has made a public appeal to locate the owner of two pigs found in North Belfast.

Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary took to Facebook to ask if anyone had any information about two pigs who appeared in a garden on Crumlin Road on Sunday night.

They are now appealing for a temporary home for the pair as they are still unable to locate the owners.

The post read: "Have you lost pigs? Crumlin Road - Belfast.

"Still not claimed - 2 pigs appeared in a garden on the Crumlin road last night. They are still there this morning and we’ve had no one claiming ownership.

"Do you recognise them? Know anyone with pigs? Please share so we can get them back to their owners.

"If they are yours get in touch - email crosskennan@hotmail.co.uk. Proof of ownership must be given!"

As of Wednesday morning, their owners have not been found and Crosskennan is hoping to find them a "safe location" to foster the pigs or a new home if ownership is not claimed.

An update on their Facebook read: "If we cannot trace owners today we will continue to try but the pigs need to move to a safe location until we can track the owners - or else find them a new home.

"Is anyone in a position to offer a foster place for the pair for up to the next two weeks?

"You will need to collect from their current place on the Crumlin Road in Belfast."
