Piglets urgently need a foster mum

Fourteen tiny piglets have been rehomed after an appeal following the death of their mum when they were just three days old.

Their Samuel Montgomery in Dunloy, Co Antrim, appealed for help on social media with a video of the little squeakers.

And now he has found a new home with a suckling sow to foster the little ones to help them thrive.

The Landrace pinks are tiny and vulnerable and had been kept under a heat lamp in the hope of finding a new home.

When they are fully grown, Landrace pigs can tip the scales at 40 stones for a sow and a whopping 50 stones for a boar - but at the minute they weigh just four pounds.

Samuel said at the time of the appeal: "Their mum passed away and they need a foster mum/sow asap.

"I'm willing to give them away to anyone who can provide a sow for them."
