Pig City is a superb book all about rivalry between two clubs – Pig City and Monkey Town. They plot evil plans against each other such as, putting mustard in each others shoes, placing eggs in each others desks and many more deceitful practical jokes. This all starts when Laura Sibbie goes to a garage sale and buys a hat that says Pig City on it. Her friends, Tiffany and Allison, wonder what Pig City is. They soon declare, after deliberation, that Pig City could be a city that is identical to paradise; they also say that there should be a president (Laura), a secretary (Allison) and a vice-president (Tiffany), of Pig City.
Every day, Laura sneaks into her class early, wearing the cap, so that she can write pig related messages on the black board. Since her teacher does not have any evidence that she is writing on the blackboard she always wears the cap. This continues every day and the punishment just gets bigger and bigger, day by day. Pig City is to be kept a secret, so to put your trust in anyone is incredibly risky. The girls make a law – everyone who joins the club, has to pay insurance. This is where you put a personal, embarrassing object into a box, and if you tell anyone about Pig City, you get your insurance shown to everyone that you know.
Soon a rival club – Monkey Town – is created and along with it, also a war.
If I were to sum this book up in a few words, it would be – sensational, engrossing and compulsive. If you are not a fan of books, then read this and it will completely change your opinion. A must-have for the fans of Holes or advanced readers of Diary of A Wimpy Kid. This is suitable for ages 9+. This for me would be rated 5 stars and 10/10. Pig City could not be improved in any way. Thank you for reading and I hope that you love this book as much as I do.
