Piers Morgan yells at son to 'get a grip' as he moans about new lockdown rules

Piers Morgan and his son Spencer have been caught up in a public Twitter row as they strongly disagreed over the latest coronavirus restrictions.

Coronavirus 'hotspots' including Manchester and Liverpool have been placed under stricter regulations - with more locations to follow if positive cases continue to rise.

With London set to move to 'Tier 2' at midnight tonight, Spencer Morgan - who lives in the capital - took to social media to complain.

"Today we bid farewell to pretty much every aspect of life that makes it worth living," fumed Spencer. "A decision to prolong the pain and suffering being caused by this 99.5% survival rate, above life expectancy mortality rate virus for many many years.

"Enjoy the ‘new normal’, cos I won’t," he fired.

Spencer's outspoken dad Piers soon caught wind of his comments and told his son to 'get a grip.'

Piers shot back: "Your great-grandmother spent 5yrs of her 20s enduring World War 2 & then enjoyed another 70 more years of fun-packed life afterwards. You’ve done 5 months of mild inconvenience by comparison ..... get a grip."

Not to be outdone, Spencer then responded to his dad: "Similar attacks on freedom. Understand now how she felt then."

Piers has been very vocal on campaigning for tougher restrictions and held politicians to account on Good Morning Britain throughout the pandemic, until they were 'banned' from appearing on the show.

He also fell out with with fellow ITV daytime star Denise Welch after she suggested the dangers of Covid have been grossly exaggerated by the media.

Piers reignited the feud with Denise - who he called a 'Covidiot' - this week as he noted she had 'gone quiet' now cases were on the rise again.

"Very quiet on coronavirus, thank god," he claimed.

"The last thing we need right now is ill-informed, deluded celebrities constantly downplaying the covid threat & making people complacent."
