Piers Morgan vows revenge on celebrities who criticised him following sudden GMB exit

Piers Morgan has hinted that he wants "revenge" on a handful of celebs who aimed criticism at him last week.

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers sparked a furious backlash with remarks about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

And recently he's taken the time to respond to his big name critics on social media.

When a fan pointed it out, Piers replied: "I never miss a thing.

"And revenge is always a dish best tasted cold."

Later the fiery broadcaster tweeted: "Memo to all high-profile, insufferably woke, unctuously virtue-signalling, shamefully race-baiting hypocrites: I'm watching, and I will retaliate."

During his final GMB appearance last week, Piers had cast doubt on the veracity of a number of claims made during the interview, including that Meghan had struggled with suicidal thoughts.

He had even rowed with colleague Alex Beresford in scenes that saw him storm off the set, with Alex branding his behaviour "diabolical."

That evening ITV confirmed he would no longer be presenting the show, with his co-host of nearly six years, Susanna Reid, addressing his absence the next morning.

Piers told reporters after his sudden departure that conversations with ITV had been "amicable."

He added: "I'm just going to take it easy and see how we go.

"I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion. If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that's entirely their right.

"I don't believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she's done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.

"If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.

"I think it's fair to say, although the woke crowd will think that they've cancelled me, I think they will be rather disappointed when I re-emerge.

"I would call it a temporary hibernation."
