Piers Morgan to take break from Good Morning Britain after this week

Piers Morgan has announced he will be taking a break from Good Morning Britain after this week's shows.

Susanna Reid will also be leaving the show to enjoy the summer holidays.

Piers revealed his upcoming departure on yesterday's show, saying he and Susanna would be interviewing Kate Garraway on Wednesday before they leave for the summer.

He told viewers: "We will hear more from Kate when she joins us later in the week.

"We’re going to talk to Kate on Wednesday I think before we go off for the summer and she will have something I’m sure to say about this."

It’s not yet known how long Piers will be absent from Good Morning Britain and who will be presenting in his place.

Usually, the pair take around six weeks off, with Piers jetting to his second home in Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for GMB told the Express, Piers and Susanna will return in early September with a number of different presenters covering for them over summer.
