Piers Morgan threatens to quit Good Morning Britain after being mocked by cheeky video

Piers Morgan has threatened to quit Good Morning Britain after the show poked fun at him in a video.

The official show Twitter put out a hilarious video on Wednesday asking viewers to vote for them in the National Television Awards because they “have to work with Morgan”.

Mocking the host, who is currently on holiday from the show, the cheeky clip showed crew members looking disheartened at work.

They wrote: “This is an urgent appeal on behalf of the team at Good Morning Britain.

“We have to work with Piers Morgan on a daily basis - each day it gets more difficult.”

But Morgan, 53, hit back at his employers by joking that he would walk away if they continued to make fun of him.

Host: Piers Morgan (S Meddle/ITV/Rex)

Sharing the video, Morgan wrote: “Relax - any more tweets like this & you won't be working with me on a daily basis.”

The flagship TV show has been nominated for Most Popular Daytime show, running against This Morning, Lorraine, BBC Breakfast, Victoria Derbyshire and Loose Women in the longlist among others.

Morgan has also been given a nod for Best Presenter but admitted last week that he doesn’t fancy his chances up against Ant and Dec.

Ranting on the show, Morgan said: “Ant and Dec will win, even though Ant hasn't done a shred of work for the whole year, he'll win it.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
