Piers Morgan said Meghan Markle would have celebrated his untimely departure from Good Morning Britain.
The TV host, 56, quit his job of six years on GMB after he doubted Meghan, 39, was denied help after telling the palace she was suicidal.
Piers says the Duchess of Sussex would have been delighted that he'd stormed off the ITV breakfast show, telling the Daily Mail: "Well I am sure she had a wonderful, joyous series of venti latte celebrations or crystal bashing, whatever they do over there, when she heard.
"I’m sure she did and that’s fine. I’ve no problem with that.’
He added: "She thinks she’s beaten me? She might be in for a surprise, because I suspect I’ll be back soon. And my views certainly haven’t changed.
"If Meghan thinks she has cancelled me or won the battle, she is in for a big shock. I’ve never been more popular."
In his latest newspaper column, Piers has revealed his side of the story which saw him sensationally quit the ITV breakfast show at the beginning of March.
Recalling the events which led up to him leaving GMB, the broadcaster admitted he'd had "a bad night of broken sleep" after hosting the show on Monday 8 March.
By the time it came to host Tuesday's show, Piers said he was "tired and agitated" - and ended up storming off set when his colleague Alex Beresford "launched into a very personal attack."
He wrote: "Oh s**t. This must be more serious than I thought. Mid-afternoon, Kevin Lygo, ITV's Director of Television, who I'd spoken to several times since yesterday, rang to say we were now 'on the cliff edge' and either I apologised, or I would have to leave GMB.
"And even if I did apologise, that wouldn't be the end of it. The woke brigade would keep coming for me, demanding I apologise for everything else they find offensive – which of course, is absolutely everything."
Since the fallout Piers claims that ITV want him to return to GMB, despite him quitting the show.
Speaking in his first newspaper interview since the drama, Piers claimed that network have been in touch.
"They reached out - there have been approaches. Never say never," he revealed.
"I have no doubt I could take the ratings back to where I left them - but the doubt is, would anyone be allowed to do it that way again?
"I was hired to give very strong, honestly held opinions, which I did. But in the end I was asked to apologise for a genuinely held opinion," he told The Sun.
Speaking about the channel's rivalry with BBC, he said: "It makes me sad to see all the hard work we did to beat the BBC in viewing numbers evaporate so fast. It’s their problem to work out . . . but never say never."
