Piers Morgan takes swipe at nemesis Dan Walker as he claims GMB had its best ratings ever

Piers Morgan's feud with Dan Walker isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

The TV presenter, 55, has bragged that Tuesday's episode of Good Morning Britain had its highest ever ratings after he returned from his summer break.

He said Dan's rival show BBC Breakfast had its lowest ever ratings on the same day as he cheekily sent them his "thoughts at this difficult time".

Taking to his Instagram account on Wednesday morning, Piers shared a GIF of himself dancing with pure satisfaction behind his GMB news desk as his co-host Susanna Reid giggled, sitting next to him in embarrassment.

Piers captioned the post: "BREAKING: Our first day back on @gmb yesterday was the highest rated show in the programme's history! 28% audience share.

"47% up year-on-year.

"Sadly, @bbcbreakfast collapsed to its lowest rating of the year... thoughts with them at this difficult time.

Dan is yet to comment on Piers' jibe.

The duo have had a longstanding feud since they began anchoring their separate TV shows around the same time.

They have repeatedly squabbled over viewing figures, with Piers saying GMB is closing the gap between the two.

Last month the pair got into a bitter spat over Dan's interview with Matt Hancock, with jealous Piers claiming his rival "blew it" by giving the Health Secretary an "easy ride".

Senior government ministers are reportedly refusing to go on the ITV chat show to avoid getting a grilling from Piers.
