Piers Morgan takes swipe at Meghan and Harry over 'honours list'

Piers Morgan has once again taken a swipe at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Good Morning Britain, leading co-presenter Susanna Reid to call him out.

The TV host and journalist slammed new reports that the royal couple are set to launch their own set of awards to reward individuals, charities and companies.

He accused the pair of trying to do their own honours list to rival the Queen 's version.

Piers asked "who do they think they are?" about the duo, before slating their apparent new plans.

But Susanna wasn't prepared to hear him tear strips out of Meghan and Harry once more.

Susanna Reid called Piers Morgan out on GMB (ITV)

She accused him of being the person who did it the most, before suggesting his claims about them on the show were false.

Piers and Susanna soon bickered over who was right, as he stood by his comments.

It comes after documents seen by  The Sun  stated that Meghan and Harry's awards will focus on stand-out players in particular fields

The awards, which would be run by the couple's Archewell foundation, will run alongside the Queen's Knighthoods, CBEs, OBEs and MBEs.

Speaking about the reports on GMB, Piers asked guests whether they would want or expect to be part of the list and accept a "woke award".

Susanna interrupted: "It's obviously Piers having another dig. Can I just point out, it's not a rival honours list, it's an award ceremony."

Piers fired back: "What is it then? Yeah, that is what an honours list is for, that's what the royals do."

Susanna told him: "It's not a rival honours list... so hang on, no one is complaining when Charles does his Prince's Trust."

Piers then told his co-host: "Your absolute dream would be that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle give you an award for your services to woke journalism."

It's then that Susanna shouted back: "I'll tell you what would be my dream, is if you wouldn't take an opportunity every single morning to have a go at Harry and Meghan."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
