Piers Morgan takes aim at Love Island - and he's not impressed by Lucie's 'Bev' catchphrase attempt

Surprise surprise, Piers Morgan is angry again - and this time he's taken aim at the latest series of Love Island.

The reality dating series may be wildly popular among viewers, but the Good Morning Britain presenter already wants to know when it's going to end.

Piers began ranting about the show on Tuesday's episode of the ITV breakfast show, after Love Island 's first episode aired on Monday.

The main target of his wrath? Cornish surfer Lucie Donlan and her coinage of the word 'bev' - her own personal slang for an attractive man.

After the word was explained to him, an exasperated Piers said: "What? God, these morons. How many months is this going on for?

"I can't, honestly. How do these people - where do they come from? Where do they literally - where are they created to speak like this?"

After discussing the show, Piers and co-presenter Susana Reid began giggling about the word together, discussing whether their next guest (shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry) was a 'bev' or, indeed, if she might consider US president Donald Trump to be a 'bev'.

To be fair, many Love Island fans were less than convinced when Lucie when she announced people would be hearing 'new and weird words' from her, including 'bev'.

She explained: "A bev is a hot guy, if he's your  boyfriend he's your  bev, but if he's not your boyfriend, he's a  bev."

But on Twitter , several viewers said they were "cringing" at her attempts to stand out with a unique way of speaking.

Lucie was told to 'stop trying to make 'bev' happen' - Piers Morgan certainly doesn't think it's going to catch on.
