Piers Morgan taken off air during Good Morning Britain in awkward show rant

We have barely made it past breakfast and Piers Morgan is already causing chaos.

But this time he chose the wrong person to mess with and his awkward rant resulted him being taken off air on Monday's Good Morning Britain .

The ITV presenter hit out at his OWN boss, Erron Gordon, after the director said that directing the big Tory leadership debate was the 'highlight of his career'.

And let's just say Piers wasn't too happy that it wasn't his role on GMB.

The 54-year-old said: "We've got our director back today, Erron, last week he directed the big debate and then he tweeted it was his career highlight.

Susanna was shocked as Piers got them taken off air (ITV)

"So his career highlight doesn't involve the people he works with every day, it's alright, we're not taking it personally.

"I was going to take you to the White House for my next interview with Trump but... That's showbiz, you're gone."

Instead of letting the controversial star continue, Piers and co-host Susanna Reid were replaced by a screen which claimed the breakfast show was suffering from "technical difficulties".

But of course, Piers wasn't having any of it.

There were really no technical difficulties - just Piers on a rant (ITV)

He hit back: "Technical difficulties? There'll be directorial difficulties, trust me."

We're sure they all kissed and made up afterwards.

Piers was in good spirits today, sporting an England cricket shirt, following the teams World Cup final win on Sunday.

He even erupted into a bit of a sing song.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am.
