Piers Morgan has hit back at "fake news" claims that Donald Trump has unfollowed him on Twitter.
The controversial TV host swiftly responded to fans who had bombarded him with tweets insisting the US president no longer follows Piers.
But it wasn't long after that the GMB star decided to set the record straight, branding the series of tweets as "fake news".
One tweet read: "Trump has unfollowed @piersmorgan love it".
"He's blocked him just checked!" another cheeky fan penned.
Piers shared the tweet on his profile, and shutting down the false claims he added: "Fake news."

After his quick response, one follower proved that Trump was still following Piers, who is an avid supporter and good friend of the president.
He shared a screenshot of Mr Trump's following, with Piers at the top of the list.
It comes after the host's son was branded a "privileged brat" for lashing out at those whose wages have been cut during the coronavirus outbreak.

Spencer, 26, took to Twitter to hit out at struggling Brits, arguing people shouldn't moan about slashed salaries as they are "saving money" during the lockdown.
He admitted he couldn't understand why people have been "complaining" about receiving a 20 per cent salary deduction due to the ongoing crisis, which has affected millions of UK jobs.
Piers' son, who regularly boasts about lavish holidays and trips on private jets, wrote: "How can anyone complain about a 20% salary reduction right now?

"Surely you are saving more than that from doing nothing anyway".
But his furious fans didn't agree, with one writing: "Wow. This tweet screams privilege."
And another wrote: "Big fan of the Morgan but this tweet is absolutely disrespectful to those that live hand to mouth unlike yourself...
"Something a spoilt brat would say and something I didn’t think you were! We live and learn."
