Piers Morgan 'strikes GMB deal with Edinburgh airport staff' after almost missing flight

Piers Morgan has enjoyed a few days in Scotland golfing and drinking £700 bottles of wine, but his holiday nearly ended in disaster when he almost missed his flight.

The 56-year-old shared the story on Instagram and said when he arrived at Edinburgh airport late, he wasn't sure if he would be allowed to board the flight.

But three British Airways staff bargained with him and said they would only let him on if he returned to Good Morning Britain.

The former GMB host said he was happy to oblige and said he 'even put a call into ITV'.

Posting on Instagram, Piers wrote: "Thanks so much to the three delightful ladies from @british_airways at Edinburgh Airport who let us on our flight home when we turned up late.... on strict condition that I return immediately to Good Morning Britain... (ps I’ve put a call into ITV...)"

And many of his followers commented saying they would love to see him back on the ITV show.

One wrote: "Fair play - We all need you back on GMB ASAP! Come on Piers, you have had long holiday now. Get back to work."

Another added: "Haven’t watched it since!! Load of crap without you!!! X."

While one said: "You are greatly missed - they so bland/boring."

Another commented: "Gutted your no longer gracing my TV every morning....."

The former GMB host visited Kingsbarn in Fife and the old Course at St Andrews and was pictured with friends and his caddy.

He also posted up a picture of him outside the local pub 'The Jigger Inn' as well as the drinks he enjoyed on his tour.

Piers posted up a picture of the wine he enjoyed at Little Italy in St Andrews saying: "Not the best preparation for closing day in my Scotland golf battle - but what’s the point of living life if it’s not la dolce vita?

"And trust me, vita doesn’t get much more dolce than guzzling these two beauties... fabulous dinner at Little Italy in St Andrew’s , thanks to Dino and his wonderful staff for a memorable meal."

The 2014 bottle of Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Piers posted appears to be worth £250.

The 2004 bottle of Sassicai is extremely hard to find and goes for around the £350 mark.
