Piers Morgan slams Prince Harry for saying he's finding lockdown 'challenging' in mansion

Piers Morgan has slammed Prince Harry for saying he's finding lockdown 'challenging'.

The Good Morning Britain host laid into the royal for complaining about his ordeal in his LA mansion.

Harry's friend, Dr Jane Goodall, claimed she had been in touch and he was "finding life a bit challenging just now".

Piers conceded that Harry and wife Meghan Markle probably didn't want the media attention, but they did not make him hold back.

This came as Piers backed comedian Ricky Gervais as he hit out at stars lamenting about isolation.

Piers said: "I don’t blame particularly...I don't think Harry and Meghan wanted to be on the front pages today, I think they probably just wanted to be quiet but they’re on the front pages because one of their friends had spoken to Harry and said he’s finding it challenging.

"Of course this grates because they are currently in a mansion, which they are probably not even paying for, in Malibu, in Los Angeles, self-isolating having to do nothing at all. Nobody wants to hear about Prince Harry ’s challenging life.

"Again, he’s not given an interview but I would advise all their friends to not do this. We don’t want to hear about the struggle and battle of celebrities in multi-million pounds mansions."

Piers was not very happy (ITV)

Prince Harry was not the only celeb to be criticised as Piers took aim at a host of stars.

In a stinging dig, Piers criticised Madonna for "wailing" about COVID-19 in a bizarre rose petal bath video.

But he did also kindly point out there were celebrities using their power and status to do amazing things in the face of the crisis.

Piers claimed Ricky Gervais had "spoken for all of us, or certainly for me today" by hitting out at moaning celebs.

He added: “I don’t want to hear it either. You look at some celebrities who have done amazing things, using their power and influence for real good.

"And others post these videos, Madonna from her mansion, from her rose petal, candle-lit bath wailing away as if this could improve morale instead of destroy it.

"It’s a very interesting realignment of priorities here, where people have been reminded who the real stars of society are and we’ve got very intolerant actually of those who seemed important before."
