Piers Morgan slams Prince Harry and calls for him to be 'stripped of his title' as news of his memoir breaks

Piers Morgan has called for Prince Harry and his wife to be stripped of their titles immediately after hearing the news that the Duke of Sussex is writing a memoir.

Penguin Random House published a statement that they are working with the Prince, calling it an "intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time"

In a turbulent piece in the Mail Online, Piers took no mercy calling the Duke a "spoiled self-obsessed hypocritical royal brat" and nicknaming the couple, "Prince Poison" and "Princess Pinocchio."

Throughout he referred to the Queen, who he notes "is still mourning" and the Queen Mother.

He wrote: "Harry's turned the Queen's motto of 'never complain, never explain' into 'always complain, always explain, never stop whining."

Commenting on the book, that is due to be published in late 2022, Piers hit back, claiming that Harry is a "sell-out".

He said: "Why would someone whose only currency now is airing dirty laundry about his family to any media entity that will pay him enough, NOT write a book flinging yet more mud at them? To be blunt: Harry's a sell-out, and this is just another example of him selling out.

"It's sad, pathetic, and totally unnecessary, and it will obviously cause yet more pain to his grandmother who is still mourning the loss of her husband Philip.

"But Harry doesn't care about that.

"Like his wife Meghan, he doesn't care about anyone but himself."

Piers continued in the lengthy rant, calling Harry a hypocrite, writing: "He wants all the hugely beneficial trappings of being a royal Prince without having to do any of the hard duty graft the rest of his family put in to earn the title."

He went on to question how the memoir could be inspirational, noting the $11 million mansion in California and grab big deals from firms like Spotify, Netflix and Random House.

He added: "What exactly is so 'inspiring, courageous and uplifting' about a guy who ditches his country, duty and family for a woman who's disowned her own family?

"The couple love to tell us all how compassionate they are, yet they show zero compassion to the people closest to them in the world."

Earlier on Good Morning Britain, Piers' former gig, Susanna Reid defended the Duke of Sussex when the royal editor Duncan Larcombe questioned how much privacy the Duke wants and said, "the Royal Family will be extremely concerned about how far Harry is actually prepared to go."

She said: "Look, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Prince Harry to define the kind of privacy that he wants."

And added: "In their words, he wants to tell his own truth, he wants to be in charge of his own story."
