Piers Morgan sends Kate Garraway touching message after emotional GMB interview

Piers Morgan sent Kate Garraway a touching message on social media after her appearance on Good Morning Britain to talk about her husband's battle with coronavirus.

In a moving message, Piers said he had 'prayed for a miracle' and spoke of how 'proud' he was after Kate bravely opened up about her husband's coronavirus diagnosis.

The 55-year-old ITV presenter has been nothing but supportive of his co-star, Kate, after her husband Derek Draper was taken into intensive care while he battled the deadly disease.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Friday, Kate spoke about her husband's condition and revealed she had been told by doctors that he 'may not recover'.

During her on-screen appearance, Kate also detailed how she had sought the help of Dr. Hilary Jones before he was rushed to hospital.

Derek has been in a coma since April and doctors are unsure why he was affected 'so badly'.

Kate has received an overwhelming amount of praise from friends and followers after her emotional video.

Among the messages, Piers wrote a touching note and called his co-star's interview 'emotional' and 'inspiring'.

"Wow. Such a moving, emotional, inspiring interview on @GMB with my fabulous friend @kategarraway about her family’s #coronavirus turmoil," Piers wrote.

"So proud of you Kate, as Derek would be too. We’re all behind you, hoping & praying for a miracle."

During Kate's gut-wrenching appearance, the star also explained that Piers had helped her gain clarity and focus when her husband was taken into hospital.

"Very early on, I spoke to Piers and he said, ‘Right, come on Garraway, you’re a journalist this is the story of your life.'

"'Your focus is Derek, you’ve got to get all the information you can.’ And that actually really helped because I thought ‘I’ve got a job,’" Kate added.

Kate credited Piers with giving her a 'job' that allowed her to focus her efforts on her husband and family.

She added: "Because we’re in free- fall. I’ve got a job - my job is to fight for Derek, and keep life safe for Darcey and Billy and that forced me into that breaking news mode."
