Piers Morgan says Susanna Reid 'chucked him under the bus' as phone-a-friend on Millionaire

Piers Morgan was not happy with Susanna Reid's help on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and confessed that she "threw him under the bus".

Appearing on Good Morning Britain's Christmas Day special today, Piers opened up about taking part on Millionaire as he came face to face with his rival and nemesis Jeremy Clarkson.

The GMB host explained that Susanna had been one of his phone-a-friends - but that it hadn't gone too well.

He said: "For reasons that still baffle me, I agreed to take part in Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, hosted by a man who has punched me repeatedly in the head.

"It wasn't very Christmassy, but it's airing tomorrow night on ITV at 9.30pm on Boxing Day, which is appropriate. This is the moment when basically Jeremy Clarkson, who I had a longtime feud with who broke his finger when he hit my head, this is where we go through some of the rules."

GMB aired a clip of Piers snarking that he doesn't watch the show with Jeremy presenting, prompting the Grand Tour presenter to bite back.

Jeremy also went over the lifelines he had, including ask the host, two phone-a-friends and 50-50.

Back in the studio, Piers said: "Yeah and I did have to ask him and I did have to phone my friends - one of whom is sitting very close to me right now."

"Well, when you say friend..." Susanna quipped.

Piers continued: "Yeah, a friend would have helped a friend in need, wouldn't they, Susanna? I'm not going to give too much away other than 'chucked under' comes to mind."

Susanne responded: "Well, what did you expect?"

Piers promised: "Anyway, it's what I would call on the banter level, as Mr Clarkson put it, we're going to give the public exactly what they want."
